Renku Performance by Artists Associated with Members of the Boston Haiku Society.
A modern music and dance performance of a Japanese poetic art form.
The premier performances will be at the Berklee College of Music this
Fall. Composer, Allen LeVines, vocalist, Yumiko Matusoka, and
choreographer/dancer Emily Beattie will perform this cross-adaptation
of the play HAIKU by Katherine Snodgrass. The renku was written by
Raffael de Gruttola, Karen Klein, and Judson Evans. The concept of
this type of performance was created by Professor Tadashi Kondo of
Seikei University in Japan in 2001.
